The stories behind our homes

Every White Coat Residence has a history and a personality of its own. Here's a little of what makes each one feel like home.

Why we do this

"You may be here temporarily. Your home shouldn't feel temporary."

Whether you're coming for an assignment on your own, sharing with another healthcare professional, or bringing your family and pets, we want this to feel different from temporary housing. Each home has its own character, but they share thoughtful furnishings, comfortable extended-stay living, and central locations just minutes from the hospital and the heart of Freeport.

Three homes, three stories

Each one with its own character

A century-old Craftsman with a secret garden, a house named for the consummate entertainer, and a bungalow with a backyard you won't want to leave.

The Hathaway
A little magical

The Hathaway

A century-old Hathaway-style Craftsman that kept its original craftsmanship through a hundred years of Freeport life. Behind it sits an established private garden with an unexpected hidden entrance. Spacious, distinctive, and just a little magical.

The Stewart

Named for Martha, the consummate entertainer, this house was made for gathering. Backyard barbecues, cornhole, games, air hockey, and an oversized second building with room to grow. Designed for living, not just staying.

The Park
Your own corner

The Park

A 1950s bungalow, reimagined for extended stays, on a double lot shaded by mature trees. The fully fenced backyard is where kids play, pets explore, and long shifts wind down. Your own little corner of Freeport.

Resident stories

In our guests' own words

Real stays, told by the healthcare professionals who lived them.

The Hathaway
The Hathaway “
A charming 1930s cottage that reminded me of a visit to Cornwall, England, with every modern comfort I needed to work and rest.

While the architecture harkens back to another era, the amenities are thoroughly modern: high-speed internet, top-tier appliances, and comfortable furniture. Since I was working remotely during my stay, I gravitated to the small but comfortable office off the dining area. There was enough desk space for my triple-monitor setup, and a half-bath connected to the office made things wonderfully convenient. The office was even large enough for a super-comfy recliner, which I enjoyed once the workday was done.

The kitchen was stocked with a variety of tasty snacks and beverages that kept me happy as I worked and relaxed. The bed was very comfortable, with plenty of extra blankets and pillows. Water pressure in the shower was delightful (IYKYK), and there were more than enough towels, soaps, and lotions. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at The Hathaway and look forward to another stay in the future.
